Octopus Cosy

Cosy is a tariff aimed at Octopus customers who heat their homes with electricity (e.g. a heat pump). Those with a well insulated property that are able to shift when heating is used will benefit most. It offers three periods of reduced energy rates:

• 04:00 to 07:00 (to heat the house in the morning)
• 13:00 to 16:00 (to heat the house for the evening)
• 22:00 to 0:00 (a new third period of super cheap rates)

A peak rate applies between 16:00 and 19:00, with the regular "Flexible" rate applying at all other times of day. Note that all energy consumed during the cheaper "Cosy" periods is priced at the reduced rate, not just the energy used for heating. This makes it an excellent time to run appliances like washing machines, tumble dryers or dishwashers which will also benefit from the cheaper electricity.
