Greener Nights Forecast

Octopus releases a forecast of how green the electricity is expected to be overnight for the next week. The overnight period covers the time from 23:00-06:00 when tariffs such as Go or Intelligent Go are typically active. Each day is assigned a score from 0 to 100, where 100 is the greenest. The higher the score, the lower the carbon intensity of the grid.

This information can be used to schedule charging electric vehicles or running appliances to nights when the electricity is greenest, reducing your carbon footprint. For those on an Agile tariff greener nights correlate with cheaper unit rates, so this can save money on your electricity bills too!
