Octopus Intelligent Flux

Intelligent Flux is a tariff aimed at Octopus customers with smart GivEnergy battery storage who are able to export power to the grid at peak times (between 16:00 and 19:00). It provides an opportunity for energy arbitrage, offering an intelligent period of cheap energy imports during the night where battery storage can be topped up.

Note that all energy consumed during the cheaper import period is priced at the reduced rate, not just the energy used for topping up battery storage. This makes it an excellent time to run appliances like washing machines, tumble dryers or dishwashers which will also benefit from the cheaper electricity.
